Georgia Authorities: Body Could Be Missing Bellefontaine Woman
Georgia authorities are trying to find out if the body of an elderly woman found this morning in a field near Interstate 75 in Dooly County could be a missing Ohio woman, Gladis Russell. Russell, who’s 84 and from Bellefontaine, has not been seen for three weeks.
Assistant Special Agent Craig Rotter with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said they’re working with Logan, County Ohio authorities.
“They have provided us with dental records which we will use to compare [Thursday] at the autopsy,” Rotter said.
Tennessee authorities found Gladis Russell’s husband, Richard, on March First. His body was discovered near I-75 in southeast Tennessee near the Georgia state line.
Although not charged, the man suspected in the Russells’ disappearance, Samuel Littleton, is charged in the stabbing death of 26-year-old Tiffany Brown from Bellefontaine.
The Russells and their car disappeared shortly after Brown’s murder.
