A public safety official accused of lying to state investigators says she has a record of truthfulness so bulletproof her polygraphs as a police officer have put criminals behind bars.
Public Safety Director Cathy Collins-Taylor defended her integrity and challenged critics during media interviews she granted yesterday, ahead of her scheduled confirmation hearings today in the Ohio Senate. Collins-Taylor told The Associated Press she is hopeful she will satisfy questions of the Republican-controlled Judiciary Committee on Criminal Justice about her role in an aborted contraband sting involving inmates on work detail at the governor’s residence. She plans to bring e-mails and other evidence but has not yet decided whether to sign a waiver of her legal immunity.
