Southwestern City Schools Levy Fails Again

Once again voters in the Southwestern City Schools District have said no to paying higher property taxes for the system.

With 100% of the precincts reporting, votes against the levy surpassed votes for the levy by a margin of 51% to 49% or 546 votes.

It’s the second defeat in 3 months for the district. Voters in May rejected the same levy.

School officials have said defeat of the levy would mean severe cuts for the district including the elimination of all sports and extra curricular activities.
