With the state facing a $3.2 billion deficit and Governor Strickland suggesting deep cuts, groups are mobilizing their supporters. The state library fund stands to lose more than 100 million dollars. But as WOSU’s Sadie Taylor reports, library supporters have quickly mobilized to fight the proposed cuts.
Governor Ted Strickland has changed his stand and is now asking Ohio legislators to approve a plan to authorize thousands of slot machines at race tracks. But, critics of the plan are vowing to fight it in court.
Vice President Joe Biden will travel to an Ohio solar panel plant to talk about the state of manufacturing and plans to create more green factory jobs. Biden’s trip today will take him to the headquarters of the Willard & Kelsey Solar Group in Perrysburg near Toledo.
