Ohio University officials report a probable case of bacterial meningitis. If confirmed, it would be the third case of the serious and contagious illness at OU this year.
Many state employees have been laid off in recent months, and many more have been asked to take unpaid furlough days. These actions were taken by state leaders to help save state dollars. Some Ohio lawmakers think more cuts are in order. But as Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles reports, what these lawmakers want to cut might come as a surprise to many Ohioans.
Ohio voters won’t be getting the chance to repeal the state income tax this November after all. A group that had vowed to give them that chance says it is shelving that idea for the time being. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports.
