OSU Students Make Maps For An East Side Neighborhood
Listen to the Story
A geography class at Ohio State recently completed making maps of the Near East Side of Columbus. The service learning course got the students engaged and out of the classroom while providing the community with a tangible resource.
WOSU’s Kim Fox spoke with Tim Hawthorne, a doctoral candidate at Ohio State, who taught the course.
The students will present their maps to Columbus City Council and the mayor on Monday, May 5, 2009 at the City Council meeting.
