Ohio Lawmaker Sues Governor over School Funding
Listen to the Story
A Republican lawmaker has filed a lawsuit to force Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland to reveal more details of his plan for funding Ohio schools.
Rep. Seth Morgan, a Republican from suburban Dayton, sued in the Ohio Supreme Court Monday to require the governor to comply with the state’s open records law.
Morgan sits on the committee reviewing the schools plan and previously requested information from Strickland about the way he came up with his education proposal.
Morgan says Republicans are frustrated with what he calls the lack of transparency by the Strickland administration when it comes to its school plan.
Democrat Strickland has said he’s being completely open and disagrees with critics who say he isn’t providing enough information about the proposal.
