Recent technological developments have created a wave of user-generated web content in which pre-existing sounds and images are appropriated, reshaped, and shared with unprecedented ease. The process is called “Remix” or “Mashup.” The future of this creative production and ownership were part of a symposium held recently at Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law. Law Professor Peter Shane was one of the conference speakers.
