After almost two decades the city of Columbus will have a new police chief. WOSU reports the job goes to a seasoned veteran of the department.
Law enforcement official are still seeking 10 people including the drug ring’s leader, accused of shipping and selling drugs that created an atmosphere of violence; 19 have already been apprehended. State and federal authorities say the group delivered and sold hundreds of pounds of cocaine and marijuana in the central Ohio area over the past decade.
For the first time in nearly two decades, the City of Columbus has a new chief of police. He is long-time police commander Walter Distelzweig.
