The Columbus Division of Fire is investigating whether there’s a connection between a rash of fires on the city’s south side. The most recent occurred over the weekend at an old foundry.
Governor Ted Strickland’s proposed two-year state budget for Ohio includes more than one billion dollars in new fees. Some groups that would have to pay more are complaining, but not all of them. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports.
The federal stimulus package has been a lifeline for the states, including Ohio, which will get 8.2 billion dollars to shore up its budget and put into education and infrastructure. But some groups that say they’re desperately needed in this economy say the funding they are getting isn’t enough. Statehouse correspondent Karen Kasler reports.
