Franklin County Animal Shelter Director Placed On Paid Administrative Leave
Listen to the Story
Franklin County Commissioners unanimously voted to place Franklin County animal shelter director Lisa A. Wahoff on paid administrative leave while it reviews allegations the shelter was mismanaged among other complaints.
The decision comes after numerous Ohio State veterinarians reported overcrowding at the shelter and animal suffering. The shelter’s assistant director Craig Turk will remain on paid administrative leave. Wahoff was reached by phone at her residence and said she was unaware of the commissioners’ decision. She would not make any other comment. Turk’s attorney could not be reached before broadcast. Wahoff was hired in 2001 and makes more than $80,000 a year.
