A bill to deal with the so-called “golden week” in which first-time voters can register and cast ballots on the same day may come up for a vote in the lame-duck legislature.
Columbus City council has given a green light to a 30 percent income tax abatement to Children’s Hospital. The tax incentive is designed to help the hospital expand and create 2,400 new jobs during the next five years at its Parsons and Livingston location. Council-member and development chair Mary Ellen O’Shaughnessy says the agreement will keep jobs from possibly moving to the suburbs.
