Republican presidential candidate John McCain wasted little time Friday, trying to grab the media spotlight from Barack Obama, after Obama accepted the Democratic party’s nomination for president Thursday night.
On one of their first stops after the Democratic National Convention, Barak Obama and Joe Biden will be in Cleveland Saturday.
The 45th Annual Islamic Society of North America convention is estimating a total of 30,000 American Muslims to attend their three-day convention.
The parties, speeches, strategy sessions and spectacle are over, and Ohio’s delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Denver will begin trickling back into the state today. Last night they heard Barack Obama accept his nomination as their candidate for president. Now the delegates must make Obama’s case to skeptical Ohio voters.
Ohio’s Republicans are readying for a rally in Dayton where their presidential candidate will reveal his running mate. And some of them are also preparing for the work they’ll do at their party’s convention, starting on Labor Day. Ohio Public Radio’s Karen Kasler reports.
