Coleman Says Lay-offs Needed to Balance City Budget

Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman Friday announced 42 lay-offs and 60 open positions that will not be filled as the city tries to avoid a budget deficit.

Natural Landscaping Upsets Some Neighbors

Virginia Creeper covers much of Clyde Dilley's front yard in Upper Arlington. Dilley and his neighbor, Gretchen Kruger, have natural landscaping. Some of Dilley and Kruger's neighbors are less than thrilled about their flora choices.

For many people the front yard consists of grass, a couple of trees – boxwoods might line the walkway to the front door, and there may be some flowers for added color. At least two Upper Arlington residents want more. They prefer an environmentally-friendly landscape that requires less manicuring. WOSU reports on natural landscapes and what the neighbors think.

Emergency food supplies are dwindling in Southeast Ohio and some food pantries in the region have now been forced to close.
