The Youngstown Vindicator says former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland will run for the Senate next year.
Governor Endorses Cordray for Attorney General
Gov. Ted Strickland has endorsed state Treasurer Richard Cordray to be the Democrats’ choice for attorney general.
Cordray says he will focus on rebuilding the public trust, fighting crime and providing financial security to Ohioans.
Democrats are expected to formally select Cordray at a meeting June 21. Republicans are expected to pick their candidate the same day. GOP Executive Director Jason Mauk says Republicans are excited about the opportunity to field a strong candidate to restore integrity to the office.
The parties are vying to replace Marc Dann, who resigned May 14 in the wake of a sexual harassment scandal in the office. Voters will pick Dann’s replacement in November. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
