Indiana-based artist Tasha Lewis transforms the Conservatory’s gallery with thousands of magnetic cyanotype butterflies printed on cotton fabric. Her blue butterflies hover in mid-air and seem to swarm the space, blurring the connection between the natural and artificial worlds.
Columbus Zoo Director Will Retire at the End of the Year
Listen to the Story
Longtime Columbus Zoo Director Jerry Borin is ready to call it quits – almost. Borin says he will be working through the end of the year with the Zoo’s board of directors to hammer out a transition process to new leadership.
Borin has been with the zoo for 23 years. He has been the zoo’s executive director for 16 years.
Borin says he always figured he had one of the best jobs – if not the best job – in central Ohio because everyday he got to go to the zoo.
Asked about low points during his tenure as director, Borin said he was always happy to come to work, but admitted that when one of the zoo’s residents dies, it is very difficult to take.
Borin plans to visit the zoo often with his grandchildren.
