The Biological Sciences Greenhouse at OSU has been fortunate to have multiple bloomings of the Titan Arum, aka, the corpse flower. They have its smaller but also smelly cousin, the Voodoo Lily. From its bruise-colored bloom that resembles a corpse, to its stench of rotting flesh, this tropical flower masks its beauty to attract its pollinators.

While the Columbus Symphony faces musician cuts and budget shortfalls, local cultural organizations and the city are banding together to find a long-term solution to problems with arts funding. Friday Columbus City Council pledged $700,000 dollars to the Columbus Cultural Leadership Consortium. They hope the funds will be matched by the county commissioners and corporate sponsors.
Many Ohioans are casting their votes for the March 4th primary almost a month in advance. Starting Friday, county elections boards are sending out absentee ballots to voters who requested them. Or, voters may go to their local elections office to pick up a ballot and vote in person.
