Columbus mayoral candidate Bill Todd is suing the Columbus city schools and state department of education. He claims the city school system and the Ohio Department of Education maintain an unfair an inequitable system of education.
Check Cashing was once relegated to stores that charged people without bank accounts top dollar to convert their paychecks into cash. Now a growing number of banks – and Walmart – are cashing in on the business.
Classes start Wednesday for more than 50,000 Ohio State University students. Many of them arrived in Columbus during the week-end. And their arrival brought smiles to the faces of some campus area merchants. W-O-S-U’s Tom Borgerding reports that before students hit the books on Wednesday they’ll be spending lots of money.
