The federal government recommends demolishing over 200 buildings at the site of a former Cold War-era uranium plant in southern Ohio.
New Partnership to Hold and Create Jobs
The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio says a new partnership with three companies will keep 300 jobs in the central Ohio area and add 50 jobs.
SWACO spokesman John Remy says the partnership has an added bonus. It will help pay down the multi-million dollar debt on the city’s old trash burning power plant.
Remy says ground-breaking is expected this fall on facilities for the recycling firms Rastra and Kurtz. Asphalt-maker Shelley Corporation is working now to fill in the site.
