For the hungry in some Columbus neighborhoods, emergency food supplies will be only a text away. The city will spend $135,000 to help to create a mobile scheduling program for selected food pantries.
Ohio Jobless Rate Highest in Two Years
The latest unemployment figures out Friday show that Ohio’s unemployment rate jumped to 6.1 percent in June, up from 5.7 percent in May.
Ohio remains above the national unemployment rate, which was 4.5percent in June.
About 363,000 Ohioans were unemployed last month, according to the state Department of Job and Family Services.
