Columbus artist Jenny Fine says her camera has become a tool for facilitating intimacy between herself and her family, and nowhere is that more evident than in her “Flat Granny” series, soon to be on view at the Dublin Arts Council. The artist photographed her grandmother during the last ten years of her life.

Many historic structures from Ohio’s past are lost every year. They’re barns; symbols of the state’s agricultural heritage. Their enthusiasts will gather March 30th in Mansfield for the 8th annual Ohio Barn Conference. It’s a 3-day meeting to discuss restoration, preservation, barn photography and tax incentives for barn repair. Participants will also tour local barns in the Richland County area.
After successful tests in Ohio, the National Weather Service plans expansion of its “storm-based” warning system to the entire nation. Severe weather alerts will use common landmarks, highways, rivers and streams to warn the public of an approaching storm.
