Pair of Former Columbus City Employees Are Sentenced
The former city parks director in Columbus has been sentenced to five years’ probation, along with an employee who was paid for work she didn’t do.
Wayne Roberts admitted last summer that he signed off on false time sheets submitted by Krystal Griffin. Griffin also pleaded guilty in the scheme.
Both apologized today in separate appearances before Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Michael Holbrook. Roberts said because of what happened, he feels embarrassed every time he walks down the street.
Besides the probation, Holbrook also sentenced Roberts to 500 hours of community service and Griffin to 200 hours.
Each could have gotten up to ten years in prison.
