Columbus Police Kill Suspect At Intersection Near O-S-U.
Four Columbus Police officers this morning fatally shot a suspect at a campus area traffic light. Investigators say 23-year-old Michael Hevezi possessed an assault rifle and was shot after a confrontation at the intersection of Lane Avenue and North High street. The trouble began earlier in the morning when a C-V-S Pharmacy at 7470 Sawmill road reported an attempted robbery of Oxycontin. The suspect fled. Pharmacy workers provided police with a description of the suspect and he was soon sighted at Lane and High across the street from another C-V-S Pharmacy. Evidence in the case will be presented to a Franklin County Grand Jury. A police internal investigation is also required.
