Habash to leave Columbus City Council
After 14 years on Columbus City Council, President Matt Habash has announced he will leave Council in January.
Habash has served as Council President for the past seven years. He directs the Mid-Ohio Foodbank on West Mound Street.
In a letter Habash cites as his accomplishments a top flight emergency medical services system, strengthening community policing, the construction of a bike trail network and beginning work on the Route 315 Research and Technology Corridor.
Habash wrote he plans to enter a new phase of community service, helping expand the foodbank and become more fully involved in healthcare reform.
