John Michael Eugene White Arraigned; If Convicted White Could Receive Death
The Franklin County Grand Jury arraigned John Michael Eugene White Friday on two counts of aggravated murder. White is accused of killing his girlfriend’s baby boy.
John White entered a not guilty plea to two counts of aggravated murder, both of which carry death penalty specifications. Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said White is being held without bond.
“A capital case they aren’t entitled to bond, and so we asked the judge not to set any bond. And they passed on a request to lower bond or to set a bond. And that generally means they’re going to wait until the case is assigned to a judge, and then address it to the judge who draws the case,” O’Brien said.
O’Brien said a judge could be assigned to the case as early as Monday. White is accused of raping and suffocating 17-month-old Jaydon Hoberg last month. If convicted, White could be sentenced to death. He is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail under a suicide watch.
