Ohio Expands Ash Tree Quarantine in Franklin County
The Ohio Department of Agriculture has expanded the quarantine of ash trees in Franklin County. The quarantine is an effort to halt the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer.
The quarantine, currently in place in the northeast portion of Franklin County, is now extended to include an area bound by the Licking county line to the east, Interstate 70 to the south, the Delaware county line to the north and Interstate 71 to the west. Firewood or parts of ash trees may not be removed from the quarantine area. Violators face fines up to four-thousand dollars.
