One of the latest Ohio National Guard Units to be deployed to Iraq is a medical support group out of Columbus. But depsite recent deployments, the state’s recruitment is exceeding expectations.
The Columbus city council will take public comments Thursday afternoon about whether to raise taxi cab fares. Supporters point out that there hasn’t been a fare increase in more than six years.
Republicans who dominate the Ohio legislature are gearing up to pass a plan, cutting the state tax on capitol gains. They say Ohioans are paying too much in taxes ..after they make a profit on the sale of houses, businesses, or stocks. Minority Democrats, though, are opposing the tax cut plan.
