95 percent of ancient Ohio was forested. But centuries ago there were also small regions of prairie. Tall grasses and wildflowers were part of the prairie ecology and so were bison. Researchers near Columbus are trying to reestablish a prairie / bison ecosystem.

The Ohio University Board of Trustees today approved four million dollars to improve computer security after five data theft cases in 15 months.
Earthquakes usually are not a common occurrence here in Ohio. But, the state just experienced its 10th earthquake of the year, almost all of them happening under and around Lake Erie. This week’s quake was the largest of the year. Although it was only a 3.8 magnitude quake, it gave many in northeastern Ohio an afternoon jolt.
