Several of Ohio’s top state officials are revving up a campaign to defeat possible ballot issues in November that would legalize electronic slot machines at racetracks. But that opposition is not stopping gambling interests from pushing their plans.

The Ohio Division of Tourism and Travel says it will spend $236,000 next week urging state residents to take a short summer trip.
