Dealth Penalty Critics Focus on Difficult Execution

An Ohio execution that took five times longer than usual on Tuesday is being played up by critics of capitol punishment. They’re trying to use it as ammunition for their drive to kill off the death penalty or at least put a moratorium on it. Still, there’s no evidence that the execution is prompting the majority of state legislators — who FAVOR capitol punishment — to change their minds.
