Immigrant Advocate Says Latinos Have Economic Clout in Central Ohio.
Protests and boycotts are planned nationwide today as part of what some call “A Day Without Immigrants.” The actions are planned to show the economic might of immigrants and to lobby members of congress considering immigration reform proposals. Ruben Castilla Herrera of the Ohio Immigrants Network tells W-O-S-U Public Media’s Marilyn Smith the repub lican-democratic divide is real in the politics of immigration.
Herrera estimates there are as many as 60-thousand immigrants in Central Ohio.
