Teachers at a Columbus charter high school have narrowly voted to form a union. But the election outcome is contested.
Columbus detectives resign, admit taking classes on city time
Two Columbus police detectives have admitted they lied about taking college courses on city time. A part of a plea bargain, Christopher Rond and Brian Carney have resigned and agreed to pay fine and restitution. Prosecutors say the men attended several classes when they were scheduled to be on-duty.
The detectives were placed on probation and the charges will not appear on their records if they comply with the terms of the agreement. Carney and Rond have also agreed never to serve as a police officer again.
