Indiana-based artist Tasha Lewis transforms the Conservatory’s gallery with thousands of magnetic cyanotype butterflies printed on cotton fabric. Her blue butterflies hover in mid-air and seem to swarm the space, blurring the connection between the natural and artificial worlds.
Ohio African-American Leaders Report on State of Black Ohio
Ohio Governor Bob Taft delivers his final “State of the State” address today. He’ll address a joint session of the Ohio Legislature, justices of the Ohio Supreme Court and members of his cabinet.
Taft’s talk is expected to include remarks about job losses in the auto industry, about education, and about predatory lending. But, African-American legislators say Taft’s address isn’t the last word about issues that concern Ohioans. Members of the Ohio legislative black caucus say Ohioans should listen to the Governor’s speech to see what he leaves out.
