Officials in Dayton are aiming to capitalize on backlash against a religious-objections law in neighboring Indiana that critics say could permit discrimination against gays and lesbians.
Police arrest man in connection with northwest Columbus shootings
Columbus police say they have made an arrest in the series of nine shootings at parked cars, homes and businesses since November 20th.
Thirty-year-old John Hobday of Columbus is charged with improperly discharging firearms at or into a habitation, plus unrelated narcotics charges.
Hobday is charged with shooting at a car and house on the northwest side of the city on January 26th. But Detective David Harrington says the gun used in this offense has been linked to all of the shootings.
The investigation has been all too familiar for a city with fresh memories of a string of highway shootings that terrorized drivers and killed a woman.
Charles McCoy has been charged in 12 of the shootings. He’s set for trial in April.
