A Columbus Police deputy chief says officers could have done a better job handling rowdy crowds after the Ohio State football team won the national championship.

The man accused of killing a Columbus police officer during an attempted bank robbery pled innocent Thursday at his arraignment in US District Court in Columbus.
More pre-trial work was done Thursday in the case of suspected highway shooter Charles McCoy. McCoy is accused of 12 shootings along and near interstate highways in Central Ohio from October 2003 through February 2004. One of the shootings on the Columbus south outerbelt killed a Washington Court House woman. McCoy’s trial is scheduled to begin in early April. WOSU’s Tom Borgerding reports.
