The Columbus Division of Police has added new duties for three patrol officers. The three have been named Diversity and Inclusion Liaison Officers who will work to build trust between police and the community.
Judge sets trial date for highway shootings suspect
The judge in the serial highway shooting case has set a January 7th trial date for suspect Charles McCoy Jr.
The ruling came during a hearing Wednesday morning in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
McCoy faces a murder charge in the November shooting death of Gail Knisley. authorities suspect him in at least 11 other highway shootings.
Judge charles schneider asked for a report on mccoy’s competency to stand trial and set aside five thousand dollars in county funds to pay for the defense’s private investigator.
