Morgan County struggles to find jobs

As the US Labor Department releases the latest Unemployment figures, Morgan County, Ohio figures to have the highest jobless rate in the state – once again.

Nearly 1 in 5 Morgan County residents are out of work. Many people drive up to 90 minutes each way to find work in Columbus or Zanesville.

In the past 3 years, Morgan County has lost two major manufacturing companies. The closures come on the heels of the shut-down of a nearby coal mine.
