Officials in Dayton are aiming to capitalize on backlash against a religious-objections law in neighboring Indiana that critics say could permit discrimination against gays and lesbians.

The number of confirmed shootings near Interstate 2-70 in Columbus is now 15. A special task force is investigating the shootings that date back to May. On November 25th, a car’s passenger was killed. Franklin County Chief Deputy Steve Martin says the newest confirmed shooting was reported November 15th at a car lot on US Route 23.
Investigators say a west Columbus fire that killed three people was intentionally set. Columbus Fire Battalion Chief Dave Whiting says a woman in her 40s, a teenage girl and a two-year-old boy died in the fire that started just after 3:00 am in one side of a duplex.
