Dropout Prevention

Every 26 seconds, another student gives up on school. This equals about 7,000 students every school day, resulting in 1.3 million students dropping out of high school every year.

During a segment of WOSU’s on All Sides with Ann Fisher, a group of leaders discuss two established programs devoted to changing the course for central Ohio drop outs and students at risk for dropping out.

Guests included:

  • Nancy Nestor-Baker (OSU Administrator on Loan, United Way of Central Ohio)
  • Maureen Cassamasimo (Center Supervisor, AT&T Success Center at Linden McKinley High School)
  • Jennifer Voit (Vice President of Programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio)
