New surveys indicate consumers are feeling better. Consumer confidence is the highest in more than 5 years. The highest since the Great Recession. The brighter outlook is also evident this year along the Midway at the Ohio State Fair.
A new poll by Quinnipiac University says Obama’s approval rating in Ohio has slipped to 36 percent. The same survey in May gave him a 39-percent approval rating.
There are problems with maggots, food shortages and contraband in state prisons, and the committee that inspects those facilities is blaming a private vendor hired by the prison system.
