Unemployment Rate Fails to Drop
Ted Strickland in the 2010 campaign often pointed out that Ohio’s unemployment rate had fallen every month for more than a year. Republicans, suddenly optimistic about 9% unemployment, also were crowing about 2011 monthly declines in the jobless rate. So who is to blame now that the unemployment rate stalled at 8.6% last month, breaking a 14-month string of declines?
New Sheriff in Town
Zachary Scott is the man tabbed to succeed Jim Karnes as Franklin County Sheriff. Karnes was grooming Scott as his successor even before the long-time sheriff was diagnosed with cancer. WOSU’s multi-media guru Tom Borgerding produced a video interview with Scott.
