Unemployment Rate Fails to Drop
Ted Strickland in the 2010 campaign often pointed out that Ohio’s unemployment rate had fallen every month for more than a year.Â Republicans, suddenly optimistic aboutÂ 9% unemployment, also were crowing about 2011 monthly declines in the jobless rate.Â Â So who is to blame now that the unemployment rate stalled at 8.6% last month, breaking a 14-month string of declines?
New Sheriff in Town
Zachary Scott is the man tabbed to succeed Jim Karnes as Franklin County Sheriff.Â Â Karnes was grooming Scott as his successor even before the long-time sheriff was diagnosed with cancer.Â WOSU’s multi-media guru Tom Borgerding produced a video interview with Scott.
