Two Guitar Concerto, Violin and Guitar, and More on Next Fretworks

Our next Fretworks program on Saturday evening at 7 will feature a two guitar concerto, music for violin and guitar, and transcriptions of works originally written for the flute and for the harpsichord.

David Russell will play a Partita by J. S. Bach conceived for the flute, while William Yelverton will perform arrangements of keyboard pieces by Jean Phillipe Rameau.

The Duo 46 will play a contemporary piece for guitar and violin.  This ensemble was originally scheduled to perform on the next Columbus Guitar Society concert, but instead, the guitarist of the group, Matt Gould, will be in town with his other group, the Sudbury Guitar Trio this Saturday evening at 8pm in Bexley at Capital University’s Huntington Recital Hall.

Back on Fretworks, the Assad Duo will be the soloists in the Two Guitar Concerto of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and last but not least, Stephen Marchionda will have a beautiful piece by Isaac Albeniz, the haunting Asturias.

Join me each Saturday evening at 7 for an hour of music devoted the the classical guitar and its repertoire.
