You’re sitting in a darkened theater, a crucial scene is approaching on-screen, and an ominous shimmer of strings washes over you.  It’s then that you know something bad is about to happen.

Music and film are inextricably linked.  The right music can make a bad film tolerable, a good film better, and a great film a classic.  All I have to do to make my point is say, “Psycho.”

The campy films in the Pirates of the Caribbean series had music which left you tasting salty sea air and wanting to dive into the clear blue waters.

However, some of the most memorable music in films was written long before the movies were shot, most of it before there even WERE motion pictures.
