The Flavors of Summer Saturday at 6 pm on The American Sound
Each year when summer rolls around, many imagine the soft crunch of sandy beaches, the warmth of a bronzing sun or the invigorating sound of bat smacking baseball.
As an incurable foodie, when summer comes a-knocking I get my garden on and lick my lips in anticipation of the yummy things I’ll soon be able to yank out of the ground and slap on the grill.
Because you can’t have a barbecue without great music, this Saturday at 6 pm The American Sound features sounds of summer to go along with the good eats of the grilling season.
We’ll bask in Samuel Barber’s gorgeous Summer Music, breathe deeply with Dan Locklair’s Symphony of Seasons and get gardening advice from Leonard Bernstein’s Candide. And the inimitable Leroy Anderson and Luckey Roberts will throw us some scraps for the backyard barbecue.
Ring in the arrival of summer with The American Sound, Saturday at 6 pm on Classical 101!
