The Fabulous Bejun Mehta Sings Handel
Because he is fabulous, and because it’s the holidays, here’s countertenor Bejun Mehta singing the aria “Fammi combattere” from Handel’s opera Orlando with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Rene Jacobs conducting.
Here’s the dramatic set-up for the aria: Oralndo, a soldier in Charlemagne’s army and in love with Angelica, learns that she is in love with someone else and swears vengeance as proof of his enduring love.
