The Columbus Guitar Society is having its annual mid-season fundraiser and will present the University of Cincinnati Guitar Ensemble Saturday, Jan.21, at 8pm.

The concert event will feature the full ensemble as well as smaller group and solo performances.  The ensemble consists of up-and-coming players, some of whom go on to professional careers.  They will present an interesting and varied program of works, sure to delight lovers of classical guitar music.

This special event takes place at the Columbus Guitar Society’s regular venue for concerts, the Huntington Recital Hall at Capitol University in Bexley.  Admission is only $5, or free with Capitol University ID.  Tickets will be available at the door.

The beautiful sounds of classical guitars will be ringing throughout the Huntington Recital Hall Saturday evening, so don’t miss it.  Next time, I’ll tell you about the upcoming regular season presentation of acclaimed guitarist Dale Kavanaugh on Jan. 28th.

Alas, tonight’s concert with the University of Cincinnati CCM Guitar Ensemble has been cancelled because of inclement weather and resultant ice between here and there.  We will work with their director, Clare Callahan, to hopefully reschedule following the professional season in May 2012.  Please stay in touch as details unfold.
