The American Sound Premieres 6 p.m. Saturday on Classical 101
American music sounds different from music of any other country. But what gives American music its unique sound?
Beginning tomorrow, we’ll try to answer this question in a new program that explores great classical music with an American accent. Join me Saturday, January 5 at 6 p.m. on Classical 101 for the premiere of The American Sound.
On Saturday’s program we’ll tour the United States in all its rich musical diversity: from works infused with the musical sounds of the Big Apple and depicting summer in a small southern town, to performances by the finest ensembles from coast to coast and solo appearances by some true American legends. And we’ll wrap it all up with the foot-tappin’ sounds of Appalachia.
Go Classically American! Don’t miss the premiere of The American Sound Saturday, Jan. 5 at 6 p.m. on Classical 101.
