Russian Court Denies Request for Compensation from Bolshoi Opera
A Moscow court has ruled against a woman who filed a request for 1 million rubles for the “moral agony” she claims to have experienced while watching the Bolshoi Theater’s 2011 production of Mikhail Glinka’s opera Ruslan and Ludmilla, according to The Moscow News.
Svetlana Voronina, who filed the compensation request against the Bolshoi Theater, claimed director Dmitry Cernyakov’s new production of the opera created “direct associations with a drunk and lewd orgy.”
