Rudolf Nuryev and Prokofiev’s Dance of the Knights
It’s some of the boldest music Sergei Prokofiev ever composed. As such, it has taken on something of a life of its own off the ballet stage, in concert halls and on radio airwaves around the world.
In this video, the legendary Rudolf Nuryev dances his own choreography for the Dance of the Knights from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet ballet. This 1980 La Scala performance also featured none other than Margot Fonteyn as Lady Capulet.
