Indonesian Orchestra Goes Private, Gets a New NameRicardo Muti Rocks the House (of Representatives)

Classical music has reverberated many times throughout the White House, but Italy has set the bar a bit higher this week. A bar I hope the members of Congress will gladly jump over.
Ricardo Muti conducted a concert version of Nabucco, an opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi, at the Palazzo Montecitorio, a palace in Rome which is currently the seat of the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
If Yo Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Gabriela Montero are asked to play for a presidential inauguration, maybe Placido Domingo will show up on Capitol Hill?
Here’s a recording of the performance. (Warning: video is a little shaky.)
